Mobile products people keep on their home screen
A mobile app is the most intimate surface a company can occupy — and the least forgiving. Slow startup, confusing flows, or a botched update, and the honest review arrives within hours. We build mobile products for that reality: fast, considered, resilient, and designed to earn their place on the home screen.
HummingByte covers the full arc — product discovery, interaction design, engineering for iOS and Android, store launch, and the years after — as one accountable team.
Problems we solve
- An idea that needs to become a credible, shippable mobile product
- A web-first business whose customers now expect a first-class app
- An existing app suffering from performance, quality, or App Store review pain
- A product that must work offline or in hostile field conditions
- Subscriptions, payments, and notifications that need to be done properly
A good fit looks like
- A product with a real job to do — consumer or B2B, not a brochure in app form
- Founders or teams who want a partner in decisions, not a ticket executor
- Ambitions beyond launch: the app is meant to live and evolve for years
We're best suited to meaningful products, technically demanding builds, and long-term digital assets — less so to trivial one-off tasks. Unsure? Ask; we answer honestly.

- Interactive design prototypes
- Production iOS/Android applications with CI and release pipelines
- Store listings, review-compliance checks, and launch support
- An operations handbook: monitoring, updates, and evolution plan
How an engagement runs
- Discovery sprint 1–3 weeks · problem, users, platform strategy, plan
- Design & architecture flows, prototype, system design, store strategy
- Build cycles working software every cycle, TestFlight/internal tracks early
- Launch store submission, monitoring, rollout plan

Common questions
Native or cross-platform — what do you recommend?
It depends on the product, and we'll tell you honestly which one your roadmap needs. Deep platform integration, heavy media, or extreme performance push toward native; most business and consumer products ship excellently — and faster — on a cross-platform stack with native modules where it counts. We work both ways and recommend per product, not per our convenience.
Can you take over an existing app?
Yes. We start with a technical and product audit — code health, crash data, store standing, upgrade debt — and give you a written assessment before either of us commits to a longer engagement.
Do you handle App Store review and launch?
Yes, including review-guideline compliance, store assets, phased rollout, and the first weeks of post-launch monitoring. Launches should be boring; we prepare them so they are.
What happens after launch?
Software isn't finished at launch — OS updates, store policy changes, and user feedback keep arriving. Most clients continue into a product partnership: a steady cadence of maintenance and iteration sized to the product's stage.
